Sussex Clubs for Young People works with Aarons Department which is a National Registered Umbrella Body for the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS). We are able to provide DBS checks for positions of work excepted from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974.
Our service includes visiting your club or organisation setting to carry out the Evidence Checking required for Standard or Enhanced Disclosure DBS Checks as well as guidance for your policies and safeguarding. We recommend that our members approach Safety-Net for a complete safeguarding service and training or their local Council for Voluntary Service or Voluntary Action organisation.
DBS checks are essential to provide greater protection when recruiting volunteers and staff to work with young people. We can only complete DBS checks for members of Sussex Clubs for Young People.
We charge an administration fee for this service including any charge made to us by Aarons Department.
For volunteers: £15
For paid staff: £55
We will arrange to visit your club / organisation at a mutually convenient date to complete the DBS Check. We will need access to a good quality WiFi or 3G phone signal. Please review the DBS Evidence List to ensure that everyone requiring a check has the appropriate documents for our visit.
