Sussex Clubs for Young People Ltd (SCYP) is an umbrella youth organization that aims to support development of a vibrant voluntary and community youth sector, which involves, empowers and meets the needs of young people in Sussex.
We currently run detached/outreach weekly youth projects in a number of locations in Mid and West Sussex including Haywards Heath, Chailey, Hurstpierpoint, Hassocks, Southwick and Bognor Regis. We are looking for staff to join our existing pool of workers in engaging young people around Sussex. Our youth sessions usually take place in the evenings (approx. two hours), weekdays and typically two workers lead the sessions.
We have a great team and want to empower young people in the community by providing them with youth clubs and activities which are both for learning and fun; for example we run DJ workshops, First Aid and leadership courses etc.
We are looking for sessional youth workers who are able to run and promote positive activities for young people and are willing to undertake appropriate training have a clean Driving License and own transport; the ability to drive a minibus is desirable

Burgess Hill District Lions Clubs sent us this update about one of their adopted youth clubs. The Burgess Hill Marching Youth performed to an audience of over 200 people at the ‘Step Through Time’ concert on Saturday 10th March. Members of BHMY took to the stage at Burgess Hill Girls to showcase the band’s impressive repertoire of music, performing a huge selection of music from pop to movie themes, renaissance and classical to jazz and traditional snare drumming.
